Elaine Peterson passed away on November 26, 2016 at the Lutheran Home in River Falls, Wisconsin at the age of 93. Anna Elaine Marion Peterson was born on February 5, 1923 in Franconia Township of Chisago County, Minnesota the daughter of Archie and Laura Elfstrom. She was Baptized and Confirmed at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Chisago City, Minnesota. Elaine graduated from the Lindstrom- Center City High School. In 1941 she was united in marriage to Rueben Peterson, and to this union one daughter, Sharon, was born. They made their home in Clayton, Wisconsin where Rueben was a licensed Head Cheesemaker and she was the office secretary and bookkeeper for Stella Cheese Company. Rueben passed away in 1984, but Elaine remained at Stella Cheese until retiring on June 30, 1988 after 37 ½ years.
Elaine was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Clayton where she was a choir member, member of the Women of the ELCA, and a Sunday School teacher. She was a charter member of the Richardson-Clayton Federated Women's Club. She was also a member of the Birthday Club, and Women's Bowling Team for Stella Cheese. Elaine was also a volunteer and worked for the Red Cross when they came to town and also worked all the elections.
Elaine had many interests including: baking, 500 Club, reading, sewing, gardening, chrocheting, traveling, Wednesday morning coffee at Lake Magnor Café, and shopping and having lunch with her daughter and friends. Most important were family gatherings for birthdays and holidays.
In 2006 she moved to River Falls and became a resident of Wellhaven Senior Living. She enjoyed making new friends, playing: Euchre, Rummikub and Dominos. She also took part in the many activities and programs that were provided for the residents.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Rueben, her parents, sisters: Donna Mae Succo, Elanore Elfstrom; brothers: Burten, Charles, Earl and Donald; brother-in-law Orin Succo; sisters-in-law: Gladys, Elaine, Lois and Betty; one grandson Brian Paulson.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter Sharon Paulson and her husband Kermit of River Falls, Wisconsin; grandson Kevin Paulson and his wife Ann of Woodbury, Minnesota; granddaughter Susan Morrow and her husband Jeff of River Falls, Wisconsin; granddaughter-in-law Jackie Paulson; greatgrandchildren: Paige Close and her husband Josh of River Falls, Wisconsin, Rachel Paulson of Hudson, Wisconsin, Bryce Paulson of River Falls, Wisconsin, Taylor and Matthew Paulson of Woodbury, Minnesota, McKenzie, Max, and Madelyn Morrow of River Falls, Wisconsin as well as many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Clayton, Wisconsin with a visitation for the hour before the service. Lunch will be served after the service. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery in Amery, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
