Agnes C. Mickelson was born on July 2, 1923 in Staples, Minnesota one of three children born to Joseph and Rose (Hirman) Kaveney . She grew up in Minnesota and had a childhood sweetheart, Mike Mickelson. On January 16, 1947 they were united in marriage in Little Falls, Minnesota, a marriage that would last for over 64 years. She was a wonderful wife and mother of three daughters. Her family was the main focus of her life, and she was happiest when all her children and grandchildren were near. She enjoyed bird watching and was always looking for wildlife on the pond behind her home. She will be remembered as a woman of style, wit, warmth, and capability. She served as a leader and volunteer in many areas of the community. Agnes passed away suddenly, but peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, MN on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. She will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Brother Joe Kaveney. Left to mourn are her husband Mike Mickelson of Rosemount, MN; daughters: Sharon A. Mickelson of Rosemount, MN, Sandra Jo Iverson and Suellen M. (Michael) McGowan all of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; Sister Marjorie Rebischke of Rosemount, MN; sister-in-law Sandra Musjgerd of Red Wing, MN as well as other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church at 3333 E. Cliff Road in Burnsville, MN. There will be a visitation time for the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN.
