Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.

Alice was born July 20, 1921 on the family farm in the Town of Cylon, St. Croix County, WI, the daughter of Arthur E. and Gertrude (Zwieg) Krueger. She was baptized on August 14, 1921 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on July 29, 1934 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park, WI.

After attending Cylon State Graded School, Alice attended Glenwood City and New Richmond High Schools, graduating from New Richmond High School in 1940. For a short time after graduation, she worked for a family in the Twin Cities, doing housework and babysitting. She also worked at the "K" plant in New Richmond, assembling K rations to be shipped overseas.

On December 17, 1945 Alice was united in marriage to Byron C. Koeppen in Stillwater, MN. The couple raised two children and spent many years in Wittenberg, WI, where Byron was born and raised, before moving to rural Amery in June of 1966. Alice enjoyed being a homemaker, as well as working as a waitress for many years at both The Amery Bakery and The Dairy Bar. She had many hobbies, including cooking and baking, gardening, crocheting, and, most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will all miss her very much.

Preceding her in death was her husband Byron, who passed away in June of 1978; parents Arthur and Gertrude; infant sister Mary; brothers Raymond and Richard; and sister-in-law Irene. She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Dick) Olson and son Larry (Juanita) Koeppen, all of Amery, in addition to seven grandchildren: Brenda Olson, Erik (Kate) Olson, Phil (Jenn) Koeppen, Shelley (Scott) Brinkman, Karl (Danielle) Koeppen, Perry Koeppen and Molly (Joe) Newbauer. She also leaves eleven great-grandchildren, her brother Donald (Bernice) Krueger, sister-in-law Doris Krueger, and many other relatives and friends.
