Allen Leroy Anderson was born at home near Junction City, Wisconsin the son of Alfred and Kathryn (Frank) Anderson. He grew up on a farm near Junction City. He graduated from Stevens Point High School in 1961 and went on to attend Technical School in Milwaukee where he learned to repair black and white televisions. Allen came to Amery, Wisconsin in 1963 and worked at Fabri-tek. On August 26, 1965 he was united in marriage to Sandra May Krueger. They made their home in rural Amery where they raised their two children. When Fabri-tek closed in 1975 he was part of the group who started DMA. He later became a field service rep fixing metal fabricating machines for the Strippitt Company, based in Akron, NY. During his time working with them he amassed more than 2 million air miles traveling for his work. After retiring, he continued to work independently until his death. He enjoyed the outdoors and time hunting with his family and friends. He was a member of the Amery Gun Club and shot trap for many years. Allen was an active member of the Amery Free Lutheran Church in Amery and was always willing to take on projects. Some of his hobbies included woodworking and restoring old tractors. In 2009 he and Sandy purchased a home in Mesa, AZ where they enjoyed spending time in the winter. Allen suffered a heart attack late Tuesday evening. He was rushed to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where he died on Wednesday morning, July 24, 2013 at the age of 70 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, sister Grace Ferber, brother Gerald Anderson and sister-in-law Nancy Anderson. Surviving family members include his wife Sandra; son David (Valerie) Anderson of Osceola, WI; daughter Diane (Martin) Kangas of Solon Springs, WI; six grandchildren; brothers: George Anderson and Aaron "Kenneth" (Jane) Anderson; sister-in-law Betty Anderson and brother-in-law Edward Ferber and many other relatives.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m at Amery Free Lutheran Church. There will be a time of visitation on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and for the hour prior to the service at the church. A private family interment will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
