Allen Harold Kohn was born at home in Cylon Township on August 24, 1932. He was the son of Walter and Margaret (Dettmann) Kohn. He attended Highland School near his home. On March 29, 1952 he was united in marriage to Donna Fouks and to this union two daughters were born. They made their home in Deer Park, Wisconsin. During his life he held several jobs, sometimes two. When times were tough he took whatever work there was. He then started a job with the St. Croix County Highway Department working on highway maintenance for 30 years. He retired in 1995. Even though it was work to most people, he enjoyed cutting wood to heat their home. Allen fished on occasion when there was time. All through his life he liked a night out, especially if there was live music for the evening as he enjoyed dancing. Allen battled bone cancer and his final months were very difficult. He and Donna were staying at his daughter's home with the help of hospice care. He died there on Monday morning, June 13, 2011 at the age of 78 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Burley. Surviving family members are his wife Donna; daughters: Judy (Richard) Anderson and Kristine (Eugene) Koehler; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister Lorraine (Ortwin) Koser as well as other relatives and friends.
