Andrew Steven Peterson was born on November 10, 1982 in Osceola, Wisconsin the son of Steven J. Peterson and Jacki (nee Marshall) Griffin. Andrew grew up in Amery attending school there and graduating in May of 2001. While in school Andrew was an avid hockey player and golfer. He loved to hunt, fish and snowmobile while growing up. Andrew was a gifted carpenter and after high school had built his first home by the age of 22. He continued to work in the construction field and in the summer of 2006, decided to pursue a dream of living in Florida. After relocating to Naples, Florida he continued in the construction field, and also started a lawn service in Florida. Andrew developed the love of scuba diving, skydiving, and watching and attending NASCAR races. Andrew lived his life to the fullest always looking for something new and better to do. He was currently working with developers in the Bahamas Islands on a new project and was killed in an airplane crash off Bimini, Bahamas when returning from there on January 17, 2010. Andrew was 27 years of age and was a devoted son, brother and friend.
Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents Gaynele Marshall , John Marshall, and Kathleen Ajer; great grandparents Percy & Sydney Ward and Harlan and Mae Peterson.
Andrew is survived by his father Steven J. Peterson of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, mother Jacki Griffin of Amery, WI; step-father Todd Griffin of Amery, WI; brothers: Anthony Peterson and Parker Griffin; sisters: Alisha Peterson and Lexi Griffin; grandfather James H. Peterson of Deer Park; step-grandparents: Mike & Kathy Griffin and Ken & Bonnie Knight; step-great grandparents: George & Ann Griffin; aunts: Patricia (Tom) Jarchow, Becky Lundquist and Jennifer (Dan) Young and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday January 23, 2010 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Amery with Pastor Keith Ruehlow officiating. Organist was Helen Osborn. A memorial service will also be held in Naples, FL at a later date. The Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery assisted the family with arrangements.
