Arlyn "Red" Emmanuel Hanson age 75, of Little Canada, Minnesota passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Arlyn was born on July 19, 1940 to Emmanuel and Mildred (Berry) Hanson in Amery, WI. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1959. On August 15, 1959 he was united in marriage to Priscilla Frederickson. The couple moved to St. Paul where they raised two sons. While living in St. Paul, Arlyn owned and operated his own electroplating business in Minneapolis. Arlyn worked as an electroplater for many years and after his retirement he took a job with the Saint Paul Schools as a grounds keeper during the summer months. In 1990, Arlyn and Priscilla moved to Little Canada and had been spending their winters in Texas. Arlyn loved to travel and enjoyed going on cruises. He also loved hunting and fishing, especially his fishing trips to Canada. Most of all, Arlyn just enjoyed spending time at their farm or lake cabin with his grandkids.
Arlyn was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sandy Miessner and brother-in-law Daryl Frederickson. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Priscilla, two sons, Monty Hanson and Scott (Stacy) Hanson; five grandchildren, Travis (Bridget), Troy (Jenny), Tyler (Ashley), Haley and Ashley; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Yvonne Klink, Betty Vold and Judy (Don) Milham; a brother and sister-in-law, Dayton & Janice Fredrickson and a sister-in-law, Sandy Fredrickson; special friends, Tom & Deedee Bieniek, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Williamson ~ White Funeral Home, 222 Harriman Avenue North, Amery, WI with Pastor Matt Saarem officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until 2:00 on Saturday prior to the service. Memorials preferred to the ALS Association. Burial will be at the Elim Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
