Arthur Gilbert Kjeseth was born on July 12, 1927, at their home on the Deronda farm to Arthur and Mildred (Gilbertson) Kjeseth. Following high school, he served in the merchant marine, and was subsequently married to Beverly Rundhammer in 1949. They spent most of their married life in Amery and were happily married for 63 years. Art was in the first Amery Fire Department, a member of the Amery Lions Club and a longtime member of the Amery Golf Club as well as Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Art worked for the Amery Public School system for over 37 years in maintenance. Art enjoyed golfing, fishing, the outdoors and family. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone. He persevered a long time with alzhymers disease and COPD to which he succumbed on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the age of 85 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Kenneth, Bill, Philip, and Calvin and one Sister Marion. Left to mourn are his wife Beverly, son Steve (Linda) of Plano, TX, daughter Sandra (George) Chevrier of Clear Lake, WI, son Mark of Minnetonka, MN; brother Ralph Kjeseth of Deronda, WI. He also leaves grandchildren Jill Ivey and Mitch Kjeseth; great grandchildren Eli and Miles Ivey as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Amery. There will be a time of visitation for the hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
