Beatrice (Domke) Meyer, Amery, WI went to her eternal rest on June 17, 2014 on her 103rd birthday. She was born on
June 17, 1911 in Beaver Dam, WI, daughter of Theodore and Ida (Hofer) Domke. She moved to Pittsville with her family in 1917. Beatrice graduated from Pittsville High School in 1929 and began her studies to become a teacher. She graduated from Wood County Normal School in 1930 and taught in the Pittsville area for 7 years. Beatrice loved to travel and accompanied her parents on many postal convention trips throughout the United States. She served as the first Junior President of the Wisconsin Letter Carrier's Association from 1935 to 1937. On June 16, 1937, she married Rudolph Ernest Meyer, also from Pittsville. In addition to being busy with her family, she taught Sunday school for 12 years and was the church organist for 19 years. She also served as President of the Wood County Teachers' Association, President of Ladies Aid, and Secretary of Lutheran Women's Missionary League. In 1955, Beatrice and Rudy moved with their 4 children to Edgar, WI, where Beatrice continued her active life and her service to the Lord. She was a member of the choir at St. John Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Town of Wein for 50 years where she played organ and directed the choir for many of those years. She served as President of Evening Guild, and was a member of Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and Women's Club. She served on the Edgar Library Board, was an assistant Girl Scout leader, taught piano lessons at her home, taught at St John's Catholic School for 6 years, and was a substitute teacher in Athens and Stratford for several years. Beatrice never knew a stranger and after her grandchildren were born, she became known as Grandma Bea to everyone who knew her. She continued to be active in her church and community in Edgar until 2005, when she moved to Amery, WI to be closer to her family. She lived at Evergreen Apartment for Seniors, followed by Golden Age Manor where she remained active and participated in the many activities that were offered. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudy; her brother Edward T. Domke and sister-in-law Olive Domke
her sister Evelyn Reinolt and her brother-in-law Arthur Reinolt, sister-in-law Marie Meyer, brother-in-law, Theodore Meyer, her son-in-law James Chmel, grandson Marcus Chmel and nephew Edward D, Domke.

She is survived by her four children: Dorothy Chmel of Eau Claire; Robert (Elaine) Meyer of Amery, Richard (Caroline) Meyer of Germantown, and Elaine (Ken) Lizotte of Fayetteville, GA. She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren; 9 Great-grandchildren, two Nephews and other relatives and friends..


Services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery, WI with visitation at the church one hour before the service. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery in Pittsville, Wisconsin on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. You may sign on online guestbook and view a video tribute at www.williamsonwhite.com.
