Obituary

Betty Lou Anderson passed away June 20, 2015 in Rochester, MN after a year-long battle with cancer.
Betty was born in Hayward, Wisconsin on October 27, 1935 the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Butler) Schultz. She grew up in Northern, Wisconsin and after graduating from high school attended the University of Eau Claire. She graduated Cum Laude with her bachelors of science in secondary education and went on to earn her master's degree in foreign language from Michigan State University. On February 7, 1959 she was united in marriage to Dr. Jerry M. Anderson. They lived in Mount Pleasant, MI; Bellingham, WA; Oshkosh, WI; Muncie, IN, Amery, WI and Moorhead, Minnesota. While in Moorhead Betty taught in West Fargo for several years. In 2000 they retired to Amery. She continued to substitute teach in area schools for many years. Betty served on the Council of the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin and represented the local area at several Church wide Assemblies of the ELCA. She enjoyed quilting, golfing, and bowling. She bowled in both the state and National Tournaments several times.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Fred & Elizabeth, husband Jerry, sister Marvel Mago and Brothers Butch and Buster Schultz. Surviving family members are her sons: Greg (Sheryl) and Tim (Sienna) Anderson; four grandchildren Corissa, Makenzie, Fletcher & Olivia: sisters Sally (Bob) Baker and Thamer Herrell plus many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Deronda Lutheran Church in rural Amery, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation for the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Deronda Cemetery.
