Betty Wiuff Murray (Betty Lou) was born on November 2, 1938 in rural Murray county Minnesota, to Leonard and Esther (Gustafson) Wiuff. Betty grew up primarily in Amery, Wisconsin. On July 3, 1958, Betty and William J. Murray were wed at St. Anne Catholic Church in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. Betty and Bill were blessed with a family of five children, and made their home in Clayton, Wisconsin. In partnership with Bill's brother Norm Murray and his wife Joan, they purchased Dalberg Hardware from Bill and Norm's parents (Jim and Eleanor Murray) in 1965 and operated the hardware store until their retirement in 2001.
In 1990, Betty and Bill moved from Clayton to Bill's family home on North Twin Lake in Amery, Wisconsin. Despite loving Wisconsin, Betty and Bill spent time in Clearwater, Florida, and in recent years, wintered in Weslaco, Texas. Betty truly enjoyed time spent with family, gardening, singing in the choir at St. Joseph Catholic Church, golfing, waterskiing and many winter sports.
Surrounded by family, Betty went home to her Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the age of 77, at the Deerfield Gables, New Richmond, Wisconsin, where she had lived for the past three years.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Esther, daughter Marcia Ann Murray, sister Phyllis Kuckler, brothers Earl and Richard Wiuff, and four precious grandchildren born sleeping.
Betty is survived by her loving husband William, son James Murray (Kimberly), daughters Mary Murray, Chelle (Terry) Witthoft, Annette (Christopher) Rud, seven grandsons: Steven (Samantha) Witthoft, Ryan (Rachel) Witthoft, Adam Witthoft, Leonard Murray, Charles Murray, Noah Rud and Ethan Rud, five great granddaughters: Hannah, Hadley, Hazel, Reesa and Ruby Witthoft, sister Doris Jorgensen, sister-in-law Marilyn Wiuff, brother-in-law Courtney Kuckler, her friends at the Deerfield Gables and many more dear friends and family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amery, Wisconsin, with Father John Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Williamson-White Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass at the Church. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery.
