Betty Marie Smith, age 82 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Golden Age Manor in Amery. She was born on August 27, 1931 in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin to Joe and Della Hemauer. She was raised in Turtle Lake by her beloved Grandma, Nellie King. Betty graduated from Spooner High School in 1949. She met Chuck Smith of Luck, Wisconsin shortly after high school and they were united in marriage on May 13, 1950. Together they had three daughters. Betty retired to Amery in 2001 and lived at the Oakbrook Apartments. Her health slowly declined over the years and she moved to Golden Age Manor in 2009. She loved singing all her life, and the activities department at Golden Age Manor meant the world to her. She is survived by her three daughters, Sue Irvin of Amery, Vickie (Steve) Anderson of Amery and Sandy (Frank) Dahl of Anchorage, Alaska, as well as 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 from the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
