Bruce M. Jansen, 65, passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved most in North Dakota on Saturday, August 8, 2015. Bruce was born on December 30th, 1949 in Myrtle Creek, OR to Marvin and Alice Jansen. When he was four, the family moved back to Wisconsin where he grew up and graduated in 1968 from Turtle Lake High School. In ensuing years, he joined the US Navy, married Susan Heath of Idaho, with whom he had a daughter, Gina, and spent six years as a submariner. In 1979 he married Joan Mara of Connecticut. They moved back to Wisconsin to help run the family farm and had two children, Abigail and Chris. Later he returned to Lebanon, CT to raise his family. Recently retired from DST Systems, Inc., Bruce enjoyed golfing, country western dancing and took great enjoyment roaming the country on his motorcycle as an avid member of the Iron Butt Rally Motorcycle Association and others.
Bruce leaves behind his beloved soul mate, Necia Stevens of Waterford, CT, his mother Alice Jansen of Amery, WI, son Chris of San Francisco, CA, daughter Abigail of Orlando, FL, grandson Gavin of Idaho Falls, ID, siblings, Brian (Tammy) of Woodland, WA, Greg (Terri) of Loveland, CO, Karen (Gene) Benson of Amery, WI and Stacey (Rod) Wucherpfennig of Menomonie, WI and many more loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Marvin, of Turtle Lake, WI and daughter, Gina of Idaho Falls, ID.
Bruce was laid to rest on August 15th in Connecticut. There will be a memorial service on September 19th, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 320 Pine St., Turtle Lake, WI with visitation at 10:00 AM and lunch and fellowship following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the organization of your choosing in Bruce's memory.
