Carol Lou Olson, age 83, of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Carol was born on December 4, 1940 in Range, Wisconsin to Warren and Elsie (Wendt) McKinstry. She grew up and attended school in Amery, graduating from Amery High School. Carol met Darryl Olson at the bar in Deer Park, and they were married on April 30, 1966. They made their home in Deer Park where they raised their son, James. In 1986, they sold their home to their son James and moved in between Deer Park and New Richmond. Darryl passed away in 2001, and Carol moved back to Deer Park where she made her home until moving to Willow Ridge Healthcare 4 ½ years ago.

While living at home, Carol loved being outside and taking care of her yard—and helping others too. In her younger years, Carol loved to dance; she used to dance the Polka, Schottische, Flying Dutchman and the Waltz. She loved cooking and baking, and she was especially known for her fudge, mint brownies, pumpkin bars and banana bread, which everyone loved. Carol also enjoyed word search games, embroidering tea towels, and loved watching the Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, and "old favorite" television shows like Andy Griffith, Little House on the Prairie and The Walton's.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darryl; and sisters, Geraldine Olin and Joanne McKinstry. She is survived by her son, James Olson.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm at Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, Wisconsin. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park, Wisconsin.
