Carole Ann Yager Retana was born on July 24, 1957 the daughter of Florenz (Sonny) and Carole (nee Blosmore) Yager in Amery, Wisconsin. She grew up in Clayton and graduated from the Clayton High School in 1975. She was married to Philip Laval and together they had three children. Carole enjoyed dancing. Traveling and seeing different parts of the country was also something she liked doing. Going to garage sales and visiting friends and family at the nursing home often took up her time. Most of all being a grandmother and spending time with grandchildren was at the top of her list of things to do. Family and friends were always important to her, more than material things. Carole died at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota on Thursday June 23, 2011 after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage.
Her parents preceded her in death. Left to mourn are her children: Desiree (Kipp) Harris, Bryan Laval and Joseph Laval; grandchildren: Austin, Maxx, Cooper and Chloe; significant other Jack Eastman and his sons Josh, Ben and Dan; brothers: William Yager, Jack (Cheryl) Yager and Tom (Sue) Yager; sisters: Alice (Bruce) Carr, Marge Yager and Marion (David) Posey as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church in Amery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church.
