Catherine Theresa Kopka, age 80 of North Branch, MN passed away peacefully at home on January 16th, 2025. Kathy was born on March 10th, 1944, in Minneapolis, MN. Catherine grew up in Lauderdale, MN with her three siblings, Pat, Dan and Sheila.
On July 3rd, 1965, Catherine married Robert Kopka. Kathy and Bob moved their family of five from Highland Park to North Branch in 1975 where they planted their roots and shared the adventure of life together for 60 years.
During Kathy's life, she built a home with her husband and raised three beautiful children. Kathy had a career in real estate for many years, and she always had a story to share about the properties around town that she sold. Kathy was always up to date on her current events, whether it was reading People magazine or the news dealing with political world events. Her soft spot for strays and wildlife was always shown with her little bowls of food on her deck or the scattered corn for the sweet starving squirrels. Catherine's rebel personality would shine through with her love of scary movies, any type of crime stories and ordering dessert for a meal. The dessert lover enjoyed many summers at resorts over the years with her fun-loving siblings, gathering their children together and enjoying life. Kathy always knew who's, what's and where, when it came to her children and grandchildren. She would always ask how the day was, how her loved ones were feeling. Grammy Kopka always loved reminding her grandsons that she was "still taller than them" every time they would go in for a grammy hug. Though Kathy did not want the attention on her, she was always ready and willing to enjoy the dance floor. The seafood lover always made sure her family members' bellies were full, happy and sent them out the door with leftovers. Though Catherine was a private person, if she trusted you, she would always stand by your side. The stubborn Irish woman loved flowers, crossword puzzles, R & B music and storytelling.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, George & Evelyn Wall and her husband, Robert Allen Kopka. Catherine is survived by her three children, Kelly, Nickolas (Melissa), Laura Kopka and her two beloved grandsons, Jack and Alex.
