Catherine (Cathy) Ida Marquand was born on April 3, 1933 and passed away on July 3, 2015. Her parents were Clara and Ednard Halberg. She spent her early life in the Wanderoos, WI area. She was married to Clemette Marquand on February 3, 1951. Together they raised six children, Mike, Cindy, Bradley, Brian, Barbara and Thomas. They were married for over 50 years. They made their home in New Richmond for a short time, but mostly lived in the Amery area. She had the gift of gab and loved to visit over a cup of coffee and perhaps some homemade chocolate cake. You could often find her playing cards (mostly 500) with family and friends. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her. She's now with her husband, Clem, son Mike, granddaughter Ellie and other relatives and friends in the arms of God Almighty. Thanks be to Jesus Christ our Savior. Cathy is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Lorne) Olson, and Barbara (James) Sayavong; sons, Brad (Tammy), Brian, and Tom (Michele); 24 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a brother, Floyd (Brenda) Halberg. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the East Lincoln Alliance Church with Pastor Randy Schussman officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 5 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Little Falls Cemetery.
