Obituary

Cheryl Ann Stratton died at the Westfield's Hospital in New Richmond on Saturday, April 20. 2013 at the age of 64 years. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery. There will be a visitation on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and also for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.

Cheryl Ann Stratton, 64, of New Richmond, Wis., formerly of Clear Lake, Wis., passed peacefully into Heaven on April 20, 2013, after a long struggle with cancer.
Cheryl was born at 7:45 p.m. on February 12, 1949, at St. Mary's Hospital, Minneapolis, to proud parents Jerome and Clarabell Hingos. She, along with her parents and brother Leonard, lived a full and happy family life in St. Paul. She attended Holy Childhood Elementary School and Murray High School, excelling in music and playing the accordion in "The Rainbow Band" with her family and friends. Her family built a cabin in Amery, Wis., spending many beautiful summers along the Apple River and beginning Cheryl's lifelong love of being on the water.
She married Dennis Stratton on September 5, 1969. Cheryl attended St. Paul Technical-Vocational Institute, beginning her career as a "computypist" with L & A Products. She went on to work in several other professions, including raising her three daughters and most recently, as a bank teller at Bremer Bank in Deer Park, Wis.
Cheryl loved gardening, music, good food, sunny days on the pontoon, and most of all, her family and friends, and took special pleasure in being with her grandchildren, Julia and Tiffany. Cheryl was a pillar of strength and kindness, lending an ear, a shoulder, a smile and wise advice to anyone who needed it.
She is survived by: mother, Clarabell Hingos, of Amery; daughter, Dawn Player, of Eagan, Minn.; daughter, Stacey Stratton, and son-in-law, John Ernste, of Apple Valley, Minn.; daughter, Lisa Stratton, of Hudson, Wis.; granddaughter, Julia Player of Eagan; granddaughter; Tiffany Ernste, of Apple Valley; brother, Leonard Hingos, and sister-in-law, Patty Hingos, of Golden Valley, Minn.; nephew, Stephen Hingos, of Plymouth, Minn.; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Jerome Hingos.
