Cleo P. Hansen was born on December 31, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota the only child of William and Daisy (Card) Hansen. She attended rural school, but most of her training came in the way of learning from her father. When she was a young girl their family moved to White Bear Lake. She was able to travel and became a graphic designer for an ad company in California. Her parents were both very artistic, and that talent was passed along. Cleo was very accomplished in drawing, water color painting, chalks and oil paintings. One of her chalk drawings recently took first place in a Cultural Arts contest. She sold many of her art pieces over the years. Her love of animals was very evident in all her art work. Besides her paintings and drawings she also made jewelry. Cleo has been at Willow Ridge Healthcare where she died on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the age of 83 years.
Her parents preceded her in death. She will be missed by those who knew her.
