Obituary

Cloyce "Gene" Carter, age 86 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Willow Ridge Healthcare Facility in Amery. He was born on January 8, 1927 in Claypool, Indiana to Theodore and Mildred (Fear) Carter. At a young age the family moved to Wisconsin. Cloyce attended high school in Elmwood, Wisconsin until he joined the Navy in 1944. After the service he moved to the St. Paul area where he lived until his retirement from NSP. After retirement, he made his home in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin until he moved to Willow Ridge due to health issues. Cloyce enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. He also enjoyed listening to and playing music and loved to dance. Cloyce is survived by his son, Charles (Beth) Carter; daughters, Peggy Dupre, Susan Carter, Diane McCann, Jill Carter and Janene Carter; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Marge) Carter; sisters, Nancy (Ben) Hitz and LaDonna Eyer and special friends, Denny Severson and Sue Butler. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home Chapel in Amery. A visitation will be held from 10 to 12 noon prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin.
