Colleen Marie Tolliver (Foye) passed away on February 18, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Colleen was born in Madison, WI on October 6, 1956 to Floyd and Arla Foye (Oswald). Colleen had an adventurous spirit and was an expert Naturalist. After high school, Colleen attended UW-River Falls where she earned a reputation as a skilled and aggressive tennis player. Colleen also played hockey and liked to recount her joy in smashing other players into the boards. She graduated from River Falls with a degree in environmental science and physical education. Colleen enjoyed spending summer breaks in the Amery area working at the Last Resort Campground (where she met future husband Rick) and working at Interstate Park and Cotton Wood group home.

Colleen was an expert hiking guide, she knew all of the common and scientific names of the plants and animals in North America and what was edible and medicinal. Colleen joined the Peace Corps and served in the Philippines. She was very proud of her service and had many great stories about her Peace Corps experience. Colleen married Rick and her adventurous spirit took them to South Korea. Colleen was DoD U.S. Army Civilian employee and managed MWR programs in Korea. Colleen received an award/admonishment for spending from a base commander after being told to order whatever she wanted to run the MWR programs.

Colleen and Rick returned to the Amery area. Colleen worked for St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery for many years and was an active community member. Colleen worked at Baldwin Hospital managing the aquatic therapy program and conducting exercise classes. Colleen made many good and dear friends while she worked at Baldwin Hospital. She enjoyed learning about their lives and hearing their stories.

Colleen enjoyed fishing, canoeing, horses, playing tennis, making soap, growing saffron and many other activities. Colleen was a great instigator and delegator of many things.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Rick; son, Ray (Teri); brothers, Dave (Barb) Foye, Mike (Dianne) Foye, and Brent (Mary Jo) Foye; uncle, Dennis (Barb) Foye; aunt, Ginny Eismon; and grandchildren, Lynnelle, Aaron, Isaiah, Eli, and Zoa.

A Celebration of Colleen's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Tolliver's Residence.
