Connie Lee Peters of Spooner, Wisconsin, formerly of Amery, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 6 ^th , 2019. She was born on August 8 ^th , 1955, in Virginia, Minnesota, to Duane and Louise (Schaller) Damon. She graduated from Amery High School in 1973 and from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1977.

She was united in marriage to Carl Glenn Peters September 27 ^th , 1980. They had two children Dylan James Peters and Louise Marie Carlson.

She was a beloved English teacher who cared deeply for her students. Along with teaching, she was a forensics coach, and drama teacher directing outstanding plays for her high schools. Being a drama teacher requires being a set builder, sound system engineer, lighting engineer, make-up artist, costumer, and choreographer, along with being in charge of casting and teaching students how to perform on the stage. Connie was a master at all of it. She also gave years of service to the US Post Office in both North Carolina and Minnesota.

There will never be another Connie; she was authentic and a true original. She was magical. Her nieces and nephews have amazing memories of Aunt Connie. She loved her children more than life itself and would do anything for anyone, even if it meant putting herself last. She had a heart of gold and a zest for life that many of us could not keep up with. She opened their home to so many and treated Dylan and Louise's friends like they were her own children, giving them a safe place to be themselves.

Music and dancing were at the center of her life, along with her Lord. She would dance and sing nonstop around the house especially to Nanci Griffith and Emmylou Harris. She instilled in her children how important learning the two-step was and gave lessons to teens at their home before prom.

Connie loved Christmas; her decorations had to be up from Thanksgiving through Valentine's Day. She loved her beloved dogs Stella, Mona and Annie. She loved reading, planting flowers in her many flower gardens, and spending time outdoors, but most of all she loved people.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Duane and Louise Damon and her son Dylan James Peters.

Connie is survived by Carl Glenn Peters, her daughter Louise (Matt) Marie Carlson, step-daughter Chrissy (Greg) Peters-Woller, grandchildren Madison and Ben Woller, sister Darryle (Marv) Clott, brother Dale (Patty) Damon, sister Colleen (Jim) Adams, sister Charlene (Mark) Damon, sister Gail Ann (Randy) Anderson, nephews and nieces Dale Damon Jr., Hans Erickson, Mandy McCarty, Aimee Clott, Jessica Adams, Abbi Anderson, Ken McCarty, Sara Anderson, Damon McCarty and Mary Ziegler.

A prayer service will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday February 24 ^th , 2019, at the Williamson-White Funeral Home, 222 Harriman Avenue North, Amery, Wisconsin, with Pastor Ron Gormong officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday February 24 ^th , 2019, at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at a later date. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday immediately following the visitation at Amery Ale Works, 588 115 ^th Street, Amery, Wisconsin.
