Darlene Margaret Lonergan, age 60 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Amery Regional Medical Center. Darlene was born on October 31, 1950 in Cumberland, Wisconsin to Albert and Margaret (Miller) Strenke. She grew up in the Turtle Lake area and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1968. In 1969 she was united in marriage to James Lonergan and they later divorced. Darlene lived and farmed in the Amery area her whole life, while also raising her two children, Mike and Keri there. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, fishing and going to the cabin. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray and Dale Strenke and an infant son, Thomas Patrick Lonergan. She is survived by her son, Mike (Jolene Kahl), daughter, Keri (Don Reed) Lonergan; brothers Vern (Kathy) Strenke, Reuben "Joe" Strenke, Don (Robin) Strenke, and Clay Strenke; sisters, Val (Mark) Henck, Theresa (Monte) Krueger and special friend Steve Waterman, as well as many other loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church in Amery with Pastor Tim Bjorge officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Amery cemetery.
