Obituary

Daryl Lee Frederickson passed away at the Amery Regional Medical Center on Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012 at the age of 67 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elim Lutheran Church in Range. Burial will be at the Elim Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church.

Daryl Lee Frederickson was born on September 20, 1944 in Amery, Wisconsin the son of Benjo and Leota (Cavanaugh) Frederickson. He was Baptized and Confirmed at the Elim Lutheran Church in Range. He attended grade school in Range and then attended Amery High School. In 1962 he started a job with Plating Incorporated in St. Paul, Minnesota. On September 5, 1964 he was united in marriage to Sandra Eckwall at the Faith Lutheran Church in Clayton, Wisconsin and together they had two daughters. They lived in St. Paul, Minnesota, but moved to Range in 1971. Daryl continued commuting to work in St. Paul until 1980. From 1981 until October of 2008 he worked at Advanced Food Products in Clear Lake, Wisconsin. He was a member of Teamsters Local 662. Daryl was an integral part of the Range Community. He served on the Apple River Fire Department for 45 years, much of that time as assistant chief. Daryl served on the Elim Cemetery Board. He played softball for many years, and then became the team manager. Daryl was a member of the Richardson Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting , fishing and bowling. Daryl went through an extensive battle with cancer. With the help of his family he was able to remain at home until the last few days. Daryl died at the Amery Regional Medical Center on Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012 at the age of 67 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, mother and father-in-law Ernie and Ida Eckwall, and brother-in-law Jerry Eckwall. Surviving family members are his wife Sandy; daughters: Diana Pierson and Darla Giese; grandchildren: Sarah (Jesse) Mellerud, Ryan (Samantha) Pierson and Max Giese; great grandchildren: Arik Frederickson, Jonah Mellerud, Brayden Pierson, and Berrit Pierson; brother Dayton (Janice) Frederickson; sister Priscilla (Arlyn) Hanson and other relatives and friends.
