David Anthony Bieniasz was born on December 21, 1929 in Eveleth, Minnesota to his parents Antoni and Felicia (Hyrnewicz) Bieniasz. He grew up in Forbes and attended Cherri High School on the Iron Range in Northern Minnesota. After High School he worked in the iron mines for 1 year before starting college at Stout Institute in Menomonie, WI. After graduating from Stout, he enterred the army and served as an instructor at Fort Belvoir Virginia. Upon returning from the service he lived in Colfax, WI and returned to the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he received his Master's Degree. On August 23, 1952 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Erickson and to this union four children were born. In 1956 Dave and Gerri moved to Amery, Wisconsin. It was there that Dave would not only take a job with the Amery School District but would actually start Amery's Industrial Arts Program. Dave would go on to teach Industrial Arts in Amery for 33 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Masons and previous member of the Lions. Dave was involved in Boy Scout activities for many years and was awarded The Silver Beaver. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, camping, traveling and skiing. Dave died unexpectedly on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the age of 81 while camping with his wife Gerri in Gilbert, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents Antoni and Felicia and two brothers. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Gerri; his sons, Paul and Steven (Robin); daughters, Kathleen (William) Benz and Barbara (Gary) Strand; seven grandchildren, and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 16, 2011 from First Lutheran Church in Amery at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Williamson~White Funeral Home in Amery on Thursday and 1 hour prior to service at the church on Friday. A private family interment with military honors will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin.
