David Allen Murphy was born in Richmond, Virginia the son of Thomas and Joyce (Bennett) Murphy. He served in the United States Air Force from 1977 until 1981 working as a mechanic. He spent his career working as an airline mechanic, first for Northwest and then Delta Airlines. He was married to Christine Marie Failor and two years ago they moved to rural Amery, Wisconsin in anticipation of retirement. David died at his home in rural Amery on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the age of 61 years. His father preceded him in death. Left to mourn are his wife Christine; son Brian Murphy, step-sons: Justin and Jeremy Failor; four grandchildren, mother Joyce Murphy, and sisters Sharon Murphy and Karen McChesney as well as other relatives and friends.


Graveside services and military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Thursday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m. gathering at assembly area #4.
