Dean Herbert Dixon was born July 23, 1942 in North Freedom, Wisconsin to his parents Leo and Irene (Moody) Dixon. He spent most of his younger years in Baraboo, Wisconsin where he graduated from high school. After high school Dean enlisted in the armed services and served in the Navy. On December 28, 1961 he was united in marriage to Flo Boyles. During their 50 + years of marriage they were blessed with four daughters and many years of happiness and great friendship. The family moved to Amery, Wisconsin the end of 1979 when Dean and Flo purchased Willow Ridge Nursing Home. Dean was the administrator of Willow Ridge Nursing Home for over 20 years. Dean most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His nursing home staff and residents were most important to him when he was there. He also enjoyed watching the Packers play football, even when they lost to the Bears, golfing, and spending time with friends at the local pub. As Dean was getting ready to retire he passed his test to be a real estate agent and was also taking classes to get his tax preparer license and mortgage license. Dean is survived by his loving wife Flo, daughters Darla (Cliff) Harper of Amery, WI; Laurie (Troy) Williams of Hammond, WI; Pam (Glen) Newlin of Holcomb, WI; and Connie (Cliff) Apfel of Eau Claire, WI; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren which he adored, sisters Lorraine Clark and Kay Hefner and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Irene and Leo Dixon, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation for Dean will be from 4 to 7pm Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Williamson~ White Funeral Home in Amery, WI and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Amery.
