Denise Lynn Burstad, age 42 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. She was born on June 24, 1972 in St. Paul, MN to Gordon and Darlene (Voelk) Burstad. Denise grew up in the Midway area of St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul Central High School in 1990. After high school, she worked at various jobs in the Twin Cities, and in the mid 1990's moved to Amery to raise her two children. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Amery, and loved her dogs, shopping, going to garage sales and watching movies. Denise was preceded in death by her father, Gordon; grandparents, Gilbert and Tilda Burstad, and William Voelk and Vila Baker. She is survived by her mother, Darlene Sattler; son, Dustin LaBarre-Burstad; daughter, Danielle LaBarre-Burstad; brother, Gordon Burstad; sisters, Wanda Burstad and Dahna (Rodney) Barthel, and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Congregational Church in Amery. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Friday. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota.
