Devonna "Dee" Jean (Demmer) Olson passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the age of 90. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Amery, Wisconsin with Pastor Barry Schaefer presiding. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am at the church. The Burial will take place the following day on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Noon at the Hartland Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hartland, Minnesota.

Devonna was born on June 8, 1935 on a farm near New Richland, MN, the daughter of William and Lillian (Preiss) Demmer, and the youngest of 12 children. She was baptized on July 7, 1935 and confirmed on June 26, 1949 at the Hartland Lutheran Church. Devonna attended a country school near Freeborn, MN and graduated from Freeborn High School in 1953. On May 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gerald Paul Olson, at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN.

Gerald served two years in the Army, and after returning from the army, he served another six years in the Army Reserves. He went to work for United Building Centers for 37 years and then retired as Vice President. Devonna and Gerald traveled a lot with Gerald's employment, and Devonna was fortunate to have several nice and different jobs such as working for a judge, 18 years in dental offices, and working at Josten Corp where class rings were made, that allowed her to travel with him. However, her main job—and best job—was raising their three boys, Craig, Ronald and Paul.

After retirement, Devonna and Gerald moved to Florida where they built a home on the golf course and played many holes of golf. They enjoyed traveling with their motor homes and going on cruises outside of the country. Devonna enjoyed her bridge clubs, book club, church meetings, and playing cards with friends.

Devonna was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings; sons, Ronald and Paul; and granddaughter, Jennifer, the daughter of her son, Craig (Jane). She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Gerald; son, Craig (Jane); 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathy; and her sister, Arlyss.
