Dominic Gehant, 72, of Amery, Wis., passed away peacefully at his home on September 1st, 2026.

Dominic was born February 4th, 1954 in Amboy Ill., to Lena (Castelli) Gehant and Vernon Gehant. He graduated from Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling, Ill. Dominic worked as a television repair man in various repair shops in northwestern Wisconsin. He later worked as a slot technician for Turtle Lake Casino and Mystic Lake Casino. During his retirement years, he worked and sold antiques at Lindstrom Antique Mall in Lindstrom, Minn.

He had a lifelong love of learning, especially history, astronomy, and collecting antiques. Friends and family described him as having a wealth of knowledge on many subjects.

Dominic is survived by his former spouse, Alice (Finlay) Gehant and their daughter, Pamela Gehant; brothers, Edward and Lawrence Gehant; nieces, Kristy (Gehant) Schnidt and Jennifer (Gehant) Latchford; and nephew, Timothy Gehant.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Julianna Gehant.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery, WI with a visitation one hour prior. There will be a luncheon after the service. Interment will be held at a later date at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mendota, IL.
