Donald E. Olufson was born in Amery, Wisconsin on March 9, 1936 one of two sons born to Elmer and Myrtle (Bergseng) Olufson. He grew up on the family farm and helped with farm chores, picking rocks and sometimes getting the tractor stuck. He attended school in Balsam Lake, and later worked at the Adult Development Center in Balsam Lake. He lived at home with his mother until she moved to the hi-rise at which time he moved to Willow Ridge. He later moved to Golden Age Manor where he has lived the past few years. Donald enjoyed soft candy and Mountain Dew soda. He always greeted you with hi, a big smile, and a handshake. Donald died at Golden Age Manor on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the age of 79 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Brother Delmer Olufson. Surviving family members include his sister-in-law Sandra Olufson, nephews: Loren (Tracy) Dusek and Brent (Heidi) Dusek as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery. There will be a visitation for the hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
