Donn Marvin Webster
Donn Webster passed away February 17, 2017 at the Hudson Hospital at the age of 89.
Donn was born in Amery, Wisconsin August 16, 1927 to Howard and Marjorie Webster. He graduated from Amery High School and went on to complete his education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and Minnesota School of Business while working on the ore boats on Lake Superior in the summers.
Donn met Dorothy, his wife of 68 years while attending the University at River Falls and they were married August 13, 1949. After their marriage, Donn and Dorothy moved to Clayton and later Amery, Wisconsin where Donn took over his father's independent insurance agency which he owned and operated until 1970 when he sold it to the Bremer Bank. Under the sale agreement Donn continued to manage the agency for another 10 years after which he retired to manage his investments.
Donn and Dorothy wintered in Harlingen, Texas for 31 years and moved their summer residence to Hudson, Wisconsin in 1990 where they have resided since. He was an avid golfer and bridge life master. Donn was a member of the Hudson Masonic Lodge, the Zor Shrine Temple and the River Falls United Methodist Church.
Donn was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Beaton and is survived by his wife Dorothy, children Jo Ann and Les, grandchildren, Bryan, Dawn (Jastrow), Marjorie (Schwanke), Matthew (Ollayos), Stephanie (Beaton), Courtney (Beaton), and great grandchildren, Soren, Solie, Heather, and Franklin.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 6 pm at the Williamson ~ White Funeral Home in Amery and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Amery, Wisconsin on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
