Dorla Elaine Davies, age 77 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away at the Golden Age Manor in Amery on May 30, 2010. She was born on July 22, 1932 to Claude and Ethel (Gooding) Johnson in Laona, Wisconsin. She attended school in Waukesha, Wisconsin and worked as a secretary for the International Association of Machinist Union. On February 10, 1951 Dorla was united in marriage to Edward Davies and to this union two sons, Edward and Mark were born. They lived in Waukesha until moving to Spooner in 1977. After Edward's death in 1980, Dorla moved to Amery in 1988. For the last 22 years she has lived in Amery with her companion Ron Reese. Due to health issues, Golden Age Manor became her home in September of 2009. She loved cross stitching, making latch hook rugs, and picture and crossword puzzles. Dorla was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, son Mark, sister Dolores and brother Donald. She is survived by her son Edward, grandchildren Joshua and Jamie, loving companion Ron Reese, brothers Claude Jr.(Betty), Wayne (Kelly); sisters Garnet Johnson, Lynn (Lee) Wegner, and sister in law Carol. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, Wisconsin with Pastor Jerry Schultz officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
