Obituary

Douglas Gordon Dixson was born on February 19, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of Wade and Luella (Riese) Dixson. He was Baptized in the Lutheran Faith in 1942 and was Confirmed in 1955. He attended school in Omaha and graduated from high school. He went on to attend Technical College and was trained as a computer analyst. He served as a United States Marine in Vietnam. Doug was united in marriage to Jacquie Louise Earl on March 27, 1970 and together they raised two children. Much of his working life he was a computer analyst for companies in the twin cities. While his children were growing up he served as a 4-H leader. They made their home in Deer Park, Wisconsin and he spent two terms on the School Board for the Amery School District. He also taught some computer courses at WITC in New Richmond, Wisconsin. He wasn't a man of many hobbies, but he enjoyed working with and listening to music on the computer. For the past five years he has been employed by Wal-mart. Doug suffered a severe stroke and died at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota on Thursday April 15, 2010 at the age of 68.
His parents and an infant brother preceded him in death. Left to mourn are his wife Jacquie; son William Dixson; daughter Tammi Dixson; sister Emily Mauro , niece Ginger, nephew Roy and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday April 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery with Pastor Ryan Barnes officiating. Organist will be Debbie Raether. Interment of the cremains will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
