After ninety-one and a half years, Eldon Manuel Robey finished his earthly journey on December 13, 2018 and will be celebrating Christmas in heaven this year!

Eldon was born on June 4, 1927 in Clayton, WI to Ferris M. and Josephine M. Robey. He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church and graduated with the Class of 1945, both in his hometown. Eldon was very proud of his Clayton heritage – it was seldom that he missed a Cheese Days weekend and proudly cheered on the Clayton Bears athletic programs. His recollection of youth adventures, as well as the people and happenings of his small hometown were easily recalled and shared with many. Just this past year, he authored a book titled "Eldon's Story with Clayton School History"

Eldon was proud to have served his country in the US Navy during WWII. After his service, he attended UW-Madison for a year. Eldon was a real estate appraiser, establishing his own business – Eldon Robey & Associates.

On November 26, 1949 he married his sweetheart, Anna Mae Brihn. Prior to their current residence in New Richmond, Eldon and Anna made their home in the Minnesota cities of Austin, St. Paul & their hobby farm in rural Stillwater.

Over the years, Eldon delved into family genealogy and has much documentation to pass onto future generations. During retirement years, he spent many hours painting, playing his favorite card game of 500 and taking on the challenge of a colorful jigsaw puzzle.

Eldon & Anna were never ones to spend much time relaxing at home. They enjoyed many outings - coffee hours, meals & holidays with the family & friends, sporting events and school programs…not to mention the many church dinners they scheduled on their busy social calendar. And, Eldon savored the variety of delicious foods found at a picnic or potluck!

As a couple, Eldon & Anna enjoyed a variety of travel adventures, often with their lifetime best friends, Norris & Gloris Swager. They especially cherished their winter times in Arizona, as well as summer days with the Jacksons at the island in Canada and Tony's family at the lake in northern Minnesota.

In addition to Anna, his wife of 69 years, Eldon leaves a legacy to be celebrated by his children, Anthony (Ruth) Robey and Colleen (Andy) Jackson. He was uniquely proud of each of his seven grandchildren: Ashley (Whitney) Jurjevich, Ericka (Bill) Pirkl, Charles Jackson, Matthew Robey, Kimberly (Thomas) Underwood, Peter Robey (fiancée Stephanie Klein) and Andrea Jackson (fiancé Mark Garcia.) Eldon anticipated the arrival of and enjoyed the precious times spent with his twelve great-grandchildren.

Eldon's surviving siblings are Larry (Alice) Robey & Jean Robey, as well as sister-in-law Joyce Robey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Doran Robey and Donald (Betty) Robey. Many other family & friends, including Anna's siblings and their spouses, also passed before him.

To reminisce and celebrate his life, a visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 16, from 3 – 6p, at Williamson White Funeral Home in Amery. Funeral services will be held at 11a on Monday, December 17 at Moe Lutheran Church, rural Clear Lake.
