Eleanor Marie Robertson Bance, age 90 of Golden Valley, MN, formerly of Osceola, WI passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. Eleanor was born on January 15, 1924 in Osseo, MN to Daniel and Lillian (Killmer) Robertson. She was raised on the family farm in Osseo. After graduating from high school, Eleanor attended the Prairie Bible Institute in Canada. She then moved to the Twin Cities area and lived and worked in various areas in the Twin Cities until meeting Nels Bance. Eleanor and Nels were united in marriage on October 29, 1960 at Fourth Baptist Church in Minneapolis. The couple then made their home in Wisconsin where they farmed and raised their son, Steve. They lived on the Bance family farm for most of their lives until moving to an apartment in Osceola, WI. After Nels passed away, Eleanor then moved to Golden Valley to be closer to her son. In 2011, she moved to Sunrise Assisted Living in Golden Valley. Eleanor was very active in every church she belonged to. Her faith was very important to her and she was known by all as a very caring and loving person. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nels; infant son, Brian; brothers, Bob Robertson and Dan Robertson; sister, Shirley North and sister in law, Pat Robertson. Eleanor is survived by her son, Steve (Jackie) Bance; three step grandchildren, Heidi, Cory, and Katie Roufs; sister in law, Marion Robertson; brother in law ,Donald North and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends near and far.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the El Salem/Twin Falls Christian Center, 1751 100th Ave., Dresser, WI. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, June 18 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, WI, 222 Harriman Ave. N., as well as for the hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the El Salem cemetery.
