Obituary

Elizabeth K. "Libby" Brown of rural Luck, Wisconsin, went to be with Jesus and her loved ones on April 21, 2012. She was affectionately known as "Libby" to her family and many friends. She led a full and active life and has been a resident of rural Luck since 1973. Libby was born in Ottawa, OH on July 8, 1925 to Albert and Zelma (McDowell) Kersting. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1943. She went on to attend Miami University in Oxford, OH and graduated in 1947. Upon graduation from college she was a music teacher for several years in Celina, OH and Mentor, OH. On January 12, 1952 she married the love of her life, Ernest T. (Ted) Brown. They were married for over 50 years. From the time she was married until moving to Wisconsin in 1973, she resided in Park Ridge, IL, a suburb of Chicago. She was a member of the Northwest Symphony Orchestra in Chicago, playing the violin for many years. She was also active as a member and volunteer at the Park Ridge Community Church. Since moving to Wisconsin, Libby has been a regular attendee for many years and has numerous dear friends at Georgetown Lutheran Church in rural Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ted Brown, and sister Suzanne K. Earnhart. Surviving are her son Kert Brown (Rosemary) of Milton, Florida; son Ernie Brown of Menomonie, Wisconsin and granddaughter Linda Brown of Osceola, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Don B. Earnhart of Indianapolis, Indiana and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Georgetown Lutheran Church in rural Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. There will be a gathering time for the hour prior to the service at the church.
