Erwin "Dan" Danielson, age 90, passed away November 26, 2014 at his home in Hudson. Dan was born on January 6, 1924 in Amery, Wisconsin the son of Charles and Virna (Smith) Danielson. He grew up in Amery and graduated from the Amery High School. He served his country in WW II in the United States Army. After being discharged he went on to finish Pharmacy School at the University of Minnesota. . In 1950, he took over Danielson Drug in Amery. He later owned and ran Danielson Drug in the Medical Arts Building in Minneapolis. He met the love of his life, Meredith Nelson, on a blind date. They were married 63 years. Dan was preceded in death by his son, Mark; parents, Charles and Virna; and sister, Dorothy. Dan was a lover of music, hunting and golf. He supported the arts and loved opera. Throughout his life, Dan was devoted to his family and community. He served on the Amery Industrial Development Board and worked hard to help establish Apple River Valley Memorial Hospital in Amery. He was a member of the Amery Highway Committee and ensured there was an "Amery" exit sign on Hwy. 94, just south of Baldwin. Dan is survived by his wife, Meredie; three daughters, Gail (Ken) Vesledahl, Lisa (Rob) Stafford, Kristin (Jim) Bender; two sons, Craig (Liz), Joel (Shannon) and 15 grandchildren, Meredith, Kyle, Clay, Trent, Amery, Addy, Jonathan, Lizzie, Torie, Lindsay, Charlie, Casey, Logan, Sydney, and Luke.

A memorial service will be held Monday December 1st, 11 a.m. at the, Congregational Church, 201 Harriman Ave N., Amery, Wisconsin, (www.AmeryUCC.org).Reception to follow: Amery Golf Course, 601 Deronda St. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Amery Congregational Church.
