Eugene "Gene" Mauer, 86, a long-time resident of Bone Lake, WI peacefully passed away in Maplewood, MN on August 15, 2021.

Gene was born July 20, 1935 in Hankinson, ND.  As a young man he moved to St. Paul, MN and started his lifelong career as a Baker.

In 1984, along with his 2nd wife, Lorraine, he moved to Bone Lake.  Gene's love of family, friends, and fishing brought many people together over the years.  This love and Gene's warm smile created amazing memories and many "fish" stories.

Gene is survived by son, Alan (Brenda) Mauer; daughters, Monica Hoglund, Evelyn Garner, Christine (Mark) Cardinal; grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lodis & Christina Mauer; 2nd wife, Lorraine Mauer; and all of his siblings.
