Evelyn L. Monette died at Amery Regional Medical Center on May 7, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Congregational Church in Amery. There will be a visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the New Richmond Cemetery in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Evelyn L. Monette , nee Sias was born on January 16, 1912 in Lake Benton, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Edward Monette. They made their home in New Richmond, Wisconsin and he first taught and then was principle of the Stillwater High School. During her life Evelyn taught high school business and secretarial courses in Pittsville, WI and Clear Lake, WI. She also managed a neighborhood grocery store in St. Paul, MN. Evelyn also served as a private secretary for Doboy Industries in New Richmond for many years. In 1978 they moved to rural Amery and lived on Lake Wapogasset. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Vernon and Harold; sisters Ethel and Mabel; and husband Edward after 69 years of marriage. Survivors include her sons: Edward (Sharon), Ronald, and Larry; daughter Beverly (Clement) Milbrath; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
