Florence Gertrude Hubert was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota on July 19, 1927 the daughter of John and Olga (Aase) Bird. She lived in Minneapolis and moved to Clayton, Wisconsin as a child and graduated from Clayton High School. In 1947 she was united in marriage to John Hubert and they were married for 65 years. They made their home on the family farm in Volga near Amery, Wisconsin. Florence was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery. She was an avid gardener, seamstress, knitter, quilter, cook and baker. Florence enjoyed many crafts and activities, was a member of the Amery Garden Club and enjoyed volunteering in the Amery Schools for many years. Florence passed away at Golden Age Manor in Amery on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the age of 89.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband John Hubert, her brother Byron Bird and sister Dolores King. Surviving family members include her son Jay (Darcy) Hubert of Amery; daughter Jill (Kevin) Daugherty of Seville, OH; grandchildren: Allen Hubert, Ashley (Brady) Emerson, all of Amery; Megan Daugherty of Columbus, OH; Haley Daugherty of Cleveland, OH; great granddaughters: Alison and Samantha Emerson as well as many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery. There will be visitation at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
