Fred Herman Jorgensen was born in Edgeley, North Dakota on July 7, 1925 to Hans and Nina Jorgensen. The family moved to northern Minnesota when Fred was a young boy.
In the Navy, Fred served as a radioman in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war he was employed by the Whirlpool Corporation for 37 years as a Manufacturing engineer.
In 1952 Fred married Doris Wiuff and they enjoyed 61 years together. They also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Monroe; and two sisters, Myrtle and Evelyn. In addition to his loving wife, Fred is survived by: one daughter, Judy (Bradley) Radisewitz of Denver , Colorado; and one son, Gary (June) Jorgensen of Stillwater, Minnesota; and one grandson, Brandon (Jenny) Bielke of Aurora, Colorado; one sister, Viola Stuefen of Lake George, Minnesota; and many nephews, nieces and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Amery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with Military Honors will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Please meet at assembly area 5 at 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
