George Wayne DeLaitsch was born on August 30, 1951 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of George and Corinne (Rublee) DeLaitsch. He grew up in Roseville, Minnesota. While in high school he participated in many sports including tennis, soccer and hockey. He graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1969. Following graduation he attended Montana State University for two years before transferring to the University of Montana and graduating with a degree in environmental biology. While in college, George became an avid downhill skier and thoroughly enjoyed the many opportunities for him to continue his love for the outdoors. After college, George married Roxanne Hunt in Roseville, Minnesota on March 27, 1982 and had two children, Eric and Carrie. He began a successful career as an owner/operator over the road truck driver. In his free time, George enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography, journaling and spending time with his family. George passed away in Amery, Wisconsin on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the age of 63.
George was preceded in death by his father George Earl DeLaitsch. Surviving family members are his wife, Roxanne; mother, Corinne of Shoreview; son, Eric of Los Angeles; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Stephen Hallman of Maple Grove; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Dwight Wilcox of Chisago.

At George's request, a private celebration of life will be held at a later time. Memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
