George V. Sigsworth, age 60, of Clayton died at Region's Hospital in St. Paul, MN on Monday February 7, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williamson-White Funeral Home. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. and also for the hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery.
George Victor Sigsworth was born on March 21, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois the son of George Sr. and Mamie (Aronson) Sigsworth. He grew up in the Amery area and attended the Amery Schools. He served a short time in the United States Army before returning to Amery where he worked for A- Mart Trailer Sales north of Amery and eventually became the owner. On March 23, 1968 he was united in marriage to Kathy Poser and to this union five children were born. As the kids were growing up he was a Little League Coach. He was also a member of the Amery Jaycees for a number of years. Like many people in this part of Wisconsin he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid sports fan supporting the Packers, Brewers and Bucks. Most recently he has been a truck driver both over the road and local hauling, a job he enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barb. Left to mourn are his wife Kathy; children: George (Stacy) Sigsworth, Joe (Amy) Sigsworth, Penny (Pat) Sigsworth, Jeff Sigsworth and Jay (Cindy) Sigsworth; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; sisters: Pat McCarty and Debbie Henderson as well as other relatives and friends.
