Harry W. Wagner, age 93 of Clear Lake, Wisconsin passed away on October 6, 2010 at the Golden Age Manor in Amery, Wisconsin. Harry was born in Willoughby, Ohio on September 10, 1917 to Theodore and Emma Wagner. Harry grew up on the family farm and attended school through the eighth grade. Harry's first job was working for the Highway Department and later worked during World War II in several war related production shops. Harry was married to Rae Gwinn in 1944. Their daughter Maple was born in 1948 in Chardon, Ohio. In 1951 the family moved to Turtle Lake, Wisconsin where they dairy farmed for 6 years. The family moved to Missouri for several years, then returned to Wisconsin where he spent the remainder of his life. Harry worked at road construction at various times and enjoyed operating a Caterpillar. Harry raised beef cattle for many years and was employed at the Barron County Highway Department until his retirement. Harry enjoyed hunting and training coon dogs most of his life. He always had a very special liking for dogs. He also enjoyed country music, playing his guitar and singing. In his retirement years, Harry enjoyed many different family related activities such as fishing, making maple syrup, growing a huge garden, decorating Christmas cookies and deer hunting. Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Emma, two brothers, Herman and Frederick, and three sisters, Lilly, Helen and Ruth. Harry is survived by his loving wife Rae of Clear Lake, WI; his daughter Maple (Butch) Christensen of Clear Lake; grandson Darryl (Cheryl) Christensen of Amery, WI and their children, Trent, Lane, and Aleiya, granddaughter Vicki (Jim) Vangsness of Clear Lake and their children, Jaici, Tanae and Rayne. Harry will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Darryl and Cheryl Christensen, 935 Sunflower Way, Amery, WI on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 2 to 6 p.m. Family and friends are invited to share memories, pictures and stories of times spent with Harry.
