Helen Delores (Hanna) Magnuson, 97, died peacefully at Willow Ridge Nursing Home, Amery, WI on March 20, 2014. Helen was born in North Dakota and as a child their family moved to Clear Lake, WI. Helen graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1934. She attended the Cable Business School in St. Paul, Minnesota and her first job was at Minnesota Federal. Helen was Princess candidate for Minnesota Federal in the 1941 St. Paul Winter Carnival. She married Russell Magnuson in 1943, and when the war was over they moved to Park Ridge, IL to raise their son John, who was born in 1944. Helen worked as the Executive Assistant to the President of Magnuflux in the Chicago area for 23 years. Following her husband's death, Helen and John moved to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. In 2005 they returned to Amery where she lived until her death. Helen was a wonderful seamstress, loved to play bridge and entertain. She was a great mother and friend to many. Helen is preceded in death by Dena Hanna (mother), Erland Hanna (brother), Elizabeth Wettengel (sister), John Magnuson (son), and Suzanne Luke (niece). She is survived 7 nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
