Husein Uzeirovic was born in Blagaj Rijeka, Bosanski Novi in Bosnia. He lived in Bosnia and was a teacher for years, but also served as a county auditor for county housing . He served in the Yugoslavian Army as an ally to the United States during World War II. He was married to Ana Milberg and together they had two children. He wanted better things for his family so in retirement they escaped Bosnia and came to the United States settling in Amery, Wisconsin in 1993. He enjoyed Western movies, especially the John Wayne variety. Husein also liked studying World War II history. He was an avid reader and always promoted literacy to all those around him. He owned many rare books and was always willing to share them with others. Husein was a good family man and dedicated to being a strong family. He was a very social and happy person and loved to laugh. Husein died at his home in Amery on Monday morning, November 26, 2012 at the age of 88 years.
He is survived by his loving loving wife Ana, son Zelimir Uzeirovic and his wife Ljiljana; daughter Dubravka Vasiljevic, 4 grandchildren: Eva, Vedran, Marko and Igor as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery with a visitation time the hour before the service at the church. Interment will take place at a later date at the Milltown Cemetery in Milltown, Wisconsin.
