Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Mae Sylte was born on December 29, 1949 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Bud and Mitzi (Evans) Horsmann. Jackie grew up in Dresser and after high school graduation she attended cosmetology school. She started her career as a hair dresser in St. Croix Falls, but then came to Amery, Wisconsin where she worked for Cory's Beauty Salon (Amery Hair Studio) for the next 38 years. All of her customers (her "ladies") were very special to her and she enjoyed her time with each one of them.
On September 11, 1972 she was united in marriage to Paul Sylte. They made their home in rural Amery and together they raised three daughters. Jackie was a longtime active member of Little Falls Lutheran Church in rural Amery. Traveling, camping and family weekend outings were favorite things to do. A walk on a quiet evening, an ATV ride with her husband, and working in her flower gardens were all things she enjoyed. She loved parades, fireworks, and rarely missed an event or celebration in the area. The light of Jackie's life was her family - especially her grandchildren. She was a huge part of each of their lives, and many nights were spent sleeping over at "Nana and Poppa's".
Jackie passed away unexpectedly, with her family by her side, on June 15, 2014 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul at the too-young age of 64.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father, grandson Nicholas, and an infant sister. Left to mourn are her husband Paul; daughters: Sarah Jacqueline Sylte Monson, Heidi (Jeff) Martin and Kari (Bradley) Flinn; eight grandchildren; her mother, Mitzi Horsmann; brother James (Joan) Horsmann, as well as many other relatives, customers, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Falls Lutheran Church in rural Amery. There will be a visitation at the Williamson-White Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Little Falls Cemetery.
