Jacquelyn "Jacki" Peterson, age 70, of Amery, WI, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jacki was born on June 23, 1954 to John "Jack" and Mary Lou (Setter) Peterson in Amery. She graduated from Amery High School in 1972. Jacki then studied fashion merchandising in Eau Claire before attending Notre Dame University in Maryland, where she graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Jacki worked in many fields, ending her career as a program manager for Honeywell, where she retired in 2016.

Throughout her life, Jacki lived in many areas of the country, and even the world. She made many friends during her travels, and those she met loved her sense of humor, smile and laugh. Jacki was a caring and generous person who was always willing to help others. When her brother Roger was sick, she spent many hours by his side. She took her job as the oldest sister very seriously; her brothers joke that they never learned to talk growing up because she would speak for them.

Jacki loved spending time at her cabin on the Apple River kayaking, fishing, and looking out at the lake watching the loons. She had a soft spot for animals, never wanting to kill or step on an insect, although she could do without spiders and snakes. Jacki also loved flowers, especially dahlias. Having a big sweet tooth, Jacki loved her sweets—especially chocolates and ice cream. Jacki was a member at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Amery and was involved in many community events such as Habitat for Humanity, local food drives, and Relay for Life.

In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the American Cancer Society , Mayo Clinic , or the Crohn's Foundation .

Jacki's family would like to thank the staff at Mayo Clinic, Methodist Hospital, and Amery Hospital for their great and compassionate care of Jacki during her illnesses.

Jacki was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Lou Peterson and her brother, Roger Peterson. She is survived by her brothers, Kerry (Marti), Chuck (Lorie) and David; ex-husband, Wayne Schupp; step-children, Scott Schupp, Ryan Schupp, and Karen Leidl; step-grandchildren, Collin Schupp, Pete Schupp, Marshall Schupp, Calvin Schupp, Colette Leidl and Rudy Leidl; aunts, Geraldine Becker and Marian Sinclair; uncles, Bob Setter and Neil Mattson; and many other nieces, nephews, family and loving friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, WI. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Amery, with a visitation one hour prior.
