James Richard Luke was born on January 25, 1988 in Amery, Wisconsin the son of David and Darla (Seekins) Luke. He grew up in Amery and attended Amery Schools. James loved outdoor activities. He loved fishing, especially in a canoe. He enjoyed riding a four-wheeler, snowmobiles, and his bike. James took on the challenge of a good game on X-box and liked listening to his favorite music. His cell phone was his constant companion. He had a significant other, Amanda Taber, and together they had a son Isaiah. James was killed in a snowmobile accident in Amery on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the age of 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Dennis Seekins and grandmothers: Joyce Seekins and Sue Luke. Left to mourn are his son Isaiah and his mother Amanda Taber; parents: David and Darla Luke; brother Jason (Jessie) Luke; sister Jenna Luke; grandfather Jay Luke; nieces Kiara and Alexys Luke; lifelong buddy Nate Nick as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from Apple River Community Church in rural Amery. There will be visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church.
